The City of Regina Pipe Band has been part of the North American pipe band scene since 1992. The band is Saskatchewan's only Grade 2 level competition band, and we are well-known for our competition success, our concerts and community events, and for teaching others to play pipes and drums.
The band is an active part of the Saskatchewan cultural community, and reaches out to audiences in many parts of the country. One of the challenges the band faces is to travel to compete with other Grade 2 bands across the country. We look forward to competing each summer against bands across North America and in Scotland.
Check the band HISTORY page for more background information.
The band is affiliated with the Royal Canadian Legion, Regina Branch No. 001 and performs at Legion ceremonies throughout the year. The band practices at the Legion, 1820 Cornwall Street on Sunday afternoons from September to June. During the summer, the schedule varies, so give us a call before you come.
The CRPB started a junior band program in 1996, and this is now known as The Conservatory of Performing Arts Pipe Band. If you have a child who would like to learn the pipes or drums, please contact us, or visit the Conservatory Pipe Band to join. The band teaches using the National Piping Centre curriculum, and has been Saskatchewan Pipe Band championship in Grade 4 for the last four out of five years.
The CRPB Online Store has been static for some time, but we recently added some new products, and more are on the way! We have some new ball caps, the same great t-shirts, and a selection of music books and CDs at GREAT prices!
The band recently took delivery of new kilts for many members, and we have a major trip coming up at the end of July, when the band once again travels to the North American Pipe Band Championships at the Glengarry Highland Games.
Was mentioning the Scott BensonCD release that happened last week, and there are some great clips up on YouTube, like this one.
LEARN TO PLAY! NEW STUDENTS ALWAYS WELCOME
We have an excellent learning program at The Conservatory of Performing Arts. The Conservatory band has been Saskatchewan Champion four of the last five years, and many of students have qualified for certificates with the Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board [Scotland]. New students are welcome anytime of the year at Darke Hall, College Avenue Campus of the University of Regina. Come down after 7:00 pm to meet the instructors. We also have classes for adults!
